ASL is pleased to announce that its engineer Andrew Dale has been crowned UK champion at the Kyocera Service Awards 2019. Andrew’s success further highlights the extent of ASL’s expertise and demonstrates the first-class service ASL provides its customers.
The national final identifies the best technician in each country amongst the Black Belt Service Partners. Involving rigorous theory and practical tests, Andrew is the second ASL representative to win the national finals in the last four years, along with Mark Aldridge who won the title in 2016. Del Clack and Tony Connor also made it to the national finals this year, finishing in 4th and 5th place.
Surpassing all the other participants, Andrew said, “I am delighted to be crowned UK champion of a competition that acknowledges excellence in the area of this industry. It was an honour to compete against some of the best and brightest engineers in the UK. I think it’s a great opportunity for technicians to improve their skills and knowledge.”
Nigel Allen, marketing director at ASL commented, “Andrew winning the UK national final is a huge achievement and we are extremely proud of his success. It is fantastic to have three of our engineers demonstrate their expertise at this level.
“The Kyocera Service Award is important to ASL because it recognises and celebrates the skills and talent of engineers across EMEA, and also highlights the commitment and investment ‘we’ as the employers put in to help these technicians be the best they can. We pride ourselves on offering first-class service to our customers and placing their needs first. This award further demonstrates our devotion to ensuring that our customers receive the very best.”
Chief executive officer, Rod Tonna-Barthet said “Service engineers are extremely important to our industry and this achievement is a true reflection of ASL’s dedication to building a team of certified engineers who are at the top their game. We are looking forward to the European final where we will find out who will win a once in a lifetime trip to Japan.”
Andrew will now compete to win the title of the EMEA Service Partner Technical Engineer of the Year at the European final. He will head to Meerbusch, Germany in December for a 2-day competition at Kyocera Europe’s head office where the top three most skilled technicians will be announced.
