On the 20th of September 2023, ASL attended the East of England Net Zero Conference. Hosted by the East of England LGA and The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the conference brought together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss the region’s journey towards a sustainable and eco-friendly future. This conference was a crucial milestone in the pursuit for environmental responsibility, addressing key initiatives and priorities. The main initiative for the region is the promotion of electric vehicle (EV) fleets, and strategies to reduce vehicle usage and miles travelled.
At ASL we are aware of how important this initiative is and are making efforts to keep our business in line with it.
- Over 65% of company vehicles are hybrid or fully electric, with almost 100% of our service fleet already hybrid or fully electric.
- ASL offer the ability to work from home where possible to help reduce our carbon footprint.
- We also encourage staff to car share to work where possible.
For businesses and organisations, this conference provided valuable insights into aligning their ESG strategies with the region’s priorities, emphasising the importance of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in the pursuit of a greener future.
